Genesis all-wheel drive now the ultimate Kootenay car

The Hyundai Genesis sedan has always been a tremendous luxury car, and one that offered amazing value. The only sticking point for some local drivers was the rear-wheel drive platform. While rear-wheel drive made the Genesis fun to drive, it also made the car tougher to enjoy in those long winter months here in the Kootenays.

Now, it is a very different story. The 2015 Genesis, a complete redesign, features all-wheel drive in every model. Hyundai introduced HTRAC on the 2015 Genesis and tested this all-wheel drive system on some of the most demanding race tracks in the world, from Nurburgring to the Korean F1 Grand Prix course.

It is interesting to note that Magna International Inc., a Canadian automotive supplier, partnered with Hyundai to develop HTRAC for the Genesis, which is built in Korea. Magna understands weather and road conditions in North America and brought this knowledge to the table when creating HTRAC. As a dealership, we have noticed more customers asking about the new Genesis because it can now work as a very enjoyable car in any season.

Aside from the addition of all-wheel drive, Hyundai also upgraded the design and technology in this car. Inside, Hyundai added nice touches like genuine wood accents and premium Napa leather. Mechanically, the Genesis now features an eight-speed transmission that provides imperceptibly quiet shifting and aggressive power application. As for technology, we will need to spend some time with you to review all this car now offers, from lane departure warning to autonomous emergency braking.  The segment below shows the most dramatic example of the driver-assist technology now available in the 2015 Genesis. Hyundai has upped its game and produced a luxury car that can truly compete with vehicles priced for tens of thousands more. And with HTRAC, you can enjoy the Genesis all year long in the Kootenays.
